  3. 3.Now heat a small pressure cooker(3 ltr)and add a tbsp of ghee.Fry the coconut flakes and sliced shallots until golden brown.Take out some to sprinkle on top and leave the rest..
  4. 4.Now pour the prepared batter to the cooker and close the lid.Do not place the whistle.Cook on high flame for a minute and then reduce the flame to low and cook it for 10-12 minutes.Switch of the flame and rest until cool..
  5. 5.Now open the lid and insert a knife to check whether it's done or not.If the knife comes out clean your Kalathappam is ready.
